Rafa to move for Chelsea ace
    Wed, Mar 21 2007 12:22

Rafa Benitez is reportedly set to make a move to sign Chelsea's out-of-favour star Geremi, who is out of contract in the summer.
The versatile Cameroon international is only on the fringes of the squad at Stamford Bridge and is not set to be offered a new deal by boss Jose Mourinho.
It is thought that several Premiership clubs are tracking the 28-year old, who joined the Blues for £7million in the summer of 2003, but Benitez appears to be the most eager to secure the player's signature.

Geremi would bring experience to the Reds squad, having previously played for both Real Madrid and Middlesbrough.

Yes, we don't have enough CMs.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

I think he would be bought in to play RB if anything. Sounds like a load of bollocks though.

he's a decent enough player, provides cover at rb/rw and cm, as a squad player and on a free, no worse than Bolo.

Unless Rafa is worried about a lack of experience in the squad then I really think we would be better off using some combination of our young players (Peltier, Guthrie, Hammil) to cover those positions. I don't see Geremi challenging any of the first team players for a place and his wages would be high.

            Chelsea Ace

The only experience he'd bring is sitting on the bench
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Not to forget he is also a good freekick taker.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

This would sit comfortably in the 'nightmare summer signing' thread!

                    A right footed Zenden?

Would be a good squad player on a free I suppose, allowing Rafa to spend him money on the first 11.

                        There's nothing super about Geremi.
