I just meant they are alike in their inconsistency and ability to delight and frustrate in equal measure that's all.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postapart from being lightweight they are nothing alike mate.
Savvy on a free would be a great piece of business. He still looks very good the majority of the time, and if he does well, we have a top notch creative striker with pace, even if he fails we haven't lost much.
I would be all for it.

I always thought of Saviola as an out and out goalscorer rather than a 2nd striker. For a free he would certainly be worth a gamble. We need players with guile and invention; as King Luis absence has shown, there is a dearth of these in the team.
His goalscoring record isn't too bad
App (gls)
River Plate - 1998-2001 - 86 (44)
FC Barcelona - 2001-Present - 114 (49)
Monaco (loan) - 2004-2005 - 29 (7)
Sevilla (loan) - 2005-2006 - 30 (9)
Argentina - 2000-Present 36 (11)

Free for a full international, who has a better than 1:3 ratio, even though he has been loaned out and had to adapt to play different systems and formations. I think that he has done well, Sevilla were going to give him 5 years, so they must have thought it was impressive.Originally posted by CAD View PostThey aint impressive either!!! 9 goals last season in 30 games. :whatever:

For me it comes down to skill.
When we talk about attackers we have only ever bought one grownup attacker with real skill in years. Garcia
I have started to put attackers in two categories. Those with real footballing skills and those who are just good players. Look at ManU, Rooney, Larson, Ronaldo.
The basic truth IMO in the past has been: if we can get him, he is not good enough. We have never competed with ManU for an attacker and won, simply because we could not afford to.
Those who fall into my category of real talent are for example: Etoo, Klose, Huntelaar, Villa, Robinho, Alves to name a few.
Oh, and by the by, Saviola

He actually scored something like 16 goals last season in all comps. Have you seen him for Barca this year he has been amazing, he even scored a hatrick when he was playing ****.I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty.
