What are your thoughts on a terraced Kop in the new ground?

Maybe it is safer, maybe it's not, but I think it at least warrants looking at.

Not wearing a seatbelt is intrinsically unsafe. Standing at a football match isn't.
standing at a football match is not safe? had hillsborough been all seats there may have been better control of the tragedy and look what happened to the mancs a couple of weeks ago in lens. imo seats have a better control for safety when there are potential surges. but your whole argument about stadiums being terraced in the next 15 years is like the dog chasing its own tail. in 15 years you will be 60 and you will be looking to sit down and complaining about people standing up you old ****a

I want the CHOICE to be able to stand at a football match.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostAA, you still haven't answered my question.
Why do you want a terraced area? What is the reason?
Three large stands for everyone that wants to sit down.
One stand for those of us young and feisty enough to stand, sing, chant and swear amongst other like minded reds. Basically like an away game. It's not dangerous and it CAN and should be looked into.
I dont understand what you want Chilli ?
The entire Kop sitting down for a European Cup quarter final ?

I don't see the motivation to change. People still sing chant and swear now.
Can you give me one good reason to have a terraced area in the stadium?
We've already dismissed the "atmosphere" argument
Capacity is no argument either because we don't sell out a lot of our matches as it is.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

and what happens when the likes of nobbylad can only get tickets in that section of terracing for him and his kids?"People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.”

Away ends are very rarely sold out. It wouldn't be the same at a home match.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

i think the problem is, people are comparing terracing to people standing up in the kop at present.
i never experienced the kop as terracing but i've been in some pretty mental crowds that when i goal is scored you end up miles away from where you were standing.
that kinda **** doesn't happen when folks decide to stand up at anfield these days

Let's phrase it another way.
AA, what was the problem with the atmosphere in the all seater Anfield in 2005 CL semi final?
Did you not read Mumsfan's post about how they all stood against Villa and the atmosphere was ****.
If the team plays ****, there will be a **** atmosphere.
If the team plays well, scores a very early goal against the PL champions in a CL semi final with the aggregate score at 1-0, there will be a good atmosphere.
If we had let 6 goals in in the fisrt half against the Chavs that night do you think there would be a good atmosphere in the second half?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

The problem is that everyone has to/wants to stand at some point during games.
The area available between the seats is minute. It is barely enough to accomodate your feet and I dont have particularily big feet. I sometimes feel less safe standing under these circumstances than I did in the old terraces (although my experience of terraces did not involve the kop).
I dont think it will ever happen but a more controlled type of standing terraces as pictured earlier looks feasible.

The experts in the Taylor report at page 96 state :"standing accommodation is not intrinsically unsafe."Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostReally?
And your expertease in this subject consists of what? Looking at a picture on the internet?
Why do you think it's against the law then AA? Is i because they want to spoil our fun?
I prefer to go with the experts thanks
And i agree with them. Terraces work quite well elsewhere in the world. Lansdowne Road has/had one and it was brilliant during rugby matches, likewise Hill 16 at Croker for the GAA matches.
