I would say Ronaldo showed infinitely more talent in his first season, than Gonzalez has in his.
It's right up there with the myth that Henry rarely scored in his first season at Arsenal and that Drogba was ****e in his first season for Chelsea.
I don't think there's a myth about Henry not scoring in his first season. The theory, as I know it, goes he took ages to get going - half a season? - and scored something like two in his first twenty games. Or something.
He certainly took a while to settle.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Gonzo wouldn't be top of my list of players to be shipped out. But if we got really good money for him, I'd let him go. I've yet to see him take on a fullback. Even if he was trying and losing it, I'd be encouraged, but he's been lacking in that department. We need experience, consistency and creativity out wide right now, and haven't got tiem to wait for more potential. Which is why we need to pay up and go for the likes fo Alves, Ribery etc. Same for the strikers. Hard on Gonzo, but it's what the team needs right now which matters after 17 years of waiting. I'd give him another year and get rid of the likes of Zenden and Pennant first.

Define 'a while' mate.
Henry scored 17 Premiership goals in 31 Premiership games in his first season.
Incredible strike rate. It baffles me when people say he didnt have a good first season. It was superb.
