Hernan Crespo? Is he the answer?

Usual very dodgy rumour with absolutely no quotes and is probably 99.9% bollocks, but it's got me thinking. I think he'd be great for us.

    Liverpool linked with £68m striker
    13:48 March, 26, 2007
Liverpool are being linked with a sensational summer swoop for Chelsea star Hernan Crespo.

Crespo has totalled transfer fees of over £68m down the years – and he could be adding to that figure this summer.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly pondering a shock bid for the South American star, who is currently on a season-long loan with Inter Milan.

The Kop club are desperate for a clinical marksman and Argentina international Crespo fits the bill.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Crespo is quality, but i doubt if there's any truth to this.

            Yup.

Not even close to being true though of course. That site has been printing some right **** recently.

"Hernan Crespo? Is he the answer?"

Yes, if the question is "Who was the most dissappointed man in Istanbul?"

You guys are loons. Crespo is a brilliant striker. He's EXACTLY what we need.

Isn´t he out of contract in the summer? Either way I doubt he´ll ever come back to the Premiership, he didn´t like England that much and had some personal troubles there. I´d take in a heartbeat though.

There aren't many world class strikers around and Crespo is one no doubt about that. For the price that he would be available and he's still 30 (same age as Shevchenko), I think he could be a decent stop gap signing.

His family never really settled in England so I doubt he'd come back. As soon as he arrived at Chelsea he wanted to go back to Italy, and he looked twice the player at AC Milan as we all saw in the CL final.

He's quality but it won't happen.

I think he is a good player, from his time at Chelsea I'm not sure he adapted that well to the PL. He did have a decent goal return though. Nonethless, he left Chelsea because his family prefered in in Italy. I doubt anything much has changed in that regards, so he won't be coming to us.

                              Yep.

On his day made most other strikers in this league look very ordinary.

Holds the ball up well and actually knows where the goal is, which is something of an improvement on some of our current squad.
