They just don't make nice kits any more

adidas sure made some **** cool strips for us back in the mid to late eighties. I loved this one (had the home shirt of that year with the white 'flecks' going through. it). Today's kits aren't have as simplistic and not nearly as nice IMO, they seem to be cheaper made as well.

My absolute favourite was the home crown paints jersey that we absolutely cleaned up in, with the Umbro 1984 Rome final jesey a close second.

Got my hands on a 2005 CL final replica there this week as well, which will be going in a frame and going over my mantelpiece. A brilliant souvenir and should be worth a bob or two (I'd never sell) in years to come as it's a classic final.

Anybody else out there have these kits from yesteryear?

I have the exact same one in the piccie, can't fit in it anymore. The red is fading from the adi sign & crest

Adidas did a 'retro' version of this shirt without the badge and 'Candy' logo, I was gonna get one even but they only has small left. Not sure if they ever retailed them but they had them in an Adidas factory shop. They also had the Arsenal yellow JVC one and a scum one too.

Thinking about it they did have the Candy logo just not the LFC badge.

I thought those silver and speckled pidgeon **** kits were ****e. Also the feckin netto bag effort was awful as well.

Come to think of it adidas have made us some feckin terrible kits.

For me away kits should be white with black shorts

They made it look so easy - "Oh, here I have a bit of space, I'll just pop it in the top corner".

Their movement off the ball was very intelligent, something we really seem to lack an abundance of. Someone commented on how canny Fowler's run was against Villa (the one where Pennant hit him for the almost go-ahead). Nearly every cross for a goal on those hightlights involved a player running onto/moving towards the ball at an angle that postitioned them ballside of the defender.

Agree with the title of this thread. My favourite kit was the first one I owned.....

..my main memory of it was that it itched like hell!
