    Now that it's official

    Now that the takeover is complete what are your realistic expectations for next season?

    I don't think we will be champions next season, but I'm hoping that we will be a threat.

    I reckon a couple of big signings are on the cards, but I think it will now become a lot harder for the youth players to come through. The likes of Anderson, Peltier, Hammill and Lindfield will probably have to make do with a season out on loan.

    Incredibly, this is probably the first time in Rafa's career that he is in a position to buy the players he really wants and the press will have a field day if the new players don't hit the ground running.

    Second spot and a domestic trophy for me.

    To challenge for everything.

    I expect that Rafa will get £50m+ to spend.

    A quality right winger and striker will be signed. Probably Alves and Villa/Klose.

    We have the best manager and now he will be able to sign the players that will make a difference.
    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

      I doubt he will get that much to spend and even if he does we won't challenge for everything. We are a long way behind Chelsea and United in the league and they are not just gonna stand still and wait for us to catch up

      This summer will be a big one for Benitez. Even if he doesn't get 50 million he should get more than before so won't be able to use the excuse of lack of funds anymore, so we should see if he really is 'the best manager'.

      We won't win the league next season and personally I would be happy if our results against the top sides improve

        If we get the funds that we need for a goalscorer and Benitez gets the player that he wants, I see no reason why we can't be challenging Chelsea and Man U for the title. I think that the majority of the squad we have now is good enough, we are just that couple of quality players away and if we do get them, then there's no reason why we shouldn't be challenging.

          I think we will, when Hicks was gettin quizzed in that interview on 5live, and the interviewer said would he be put off by 20-30mil plus players, he said something along the lines of the purchases having to be in the context of a plan, and that they have budgeted a big number for summer transfers. (whether Rafa uses it tho is a diff matter)

            MY expectations are:
            money for Rafa to spend from new owners.
            Rafa to spend it wisely on some much needed top class attacking talent.
            Challenge for the Permiership next season

              Oh forgot to mention my expectations:

              2 big money buys - Striker and Winger, few low cost or free transfers.

              To stutter at the start of the season again, but slowly build up over the season, loose a few of the big head to heads but still be in with a shout of the title till March, when we'll probably fluff it again.

              Win both the FA Cup and the CC as the reserve squad we'll have will be playing well and Rafa will let them take us to the CC final. And Rafa won't be happy at getting knocked out first time of asking twice in the FA cup, so will go for that.

              We'll miss out on number 7, getting knocked out in the semi's, oh and we'll win the super cup.

                A good strong challenge to the top 2, so that we are in with at least half-a shout of the title come March next year, is the absolute minimum requirement IMO.

                Rafa hasnt got to build a whole team, its just a slight tweak to get the right level of quality in to get us to the level of the top 2. I would say 2 players, possibly 3 at the very most, a goalscoring striker and an attacking left midfielder .

                Make or break season for Rafa IMO, the money that he does get cannot be squandered, top drawer players or nothing.

                  My expectation is that we will win the Premiership in our final season at the current Anfield (whenever that may be).

                    We should be challenging for the league next season. I'm ****ing desperate of winning the league and being also rans seasons in seasons out is doing my head in.

                    Next year or never for me. At least that should be the spirit.
