I said that his fitness is the key. I wouldn't sign him until 2008 when he will have played a year after his injuries, by that time we will know if he is fit enough. It will take a long time to get back to 100% again if he ever will do that.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Of course.... Just like Shanks, Paisley, Rush or King Kenny. Owen is still some part of LFC history and he was a decent part, so he will probably be talked about for many more years to come.

Hopefully more for what he DID for us rather than what he can DO for us.

I suggest that you look at the clip, how to score goals, in my signature and then you will see that he scores all kind of goals.

It's a myth that Owen was all about pace.

No one knows how fit he will be after his injuries but Rafa would probably sign a fit Owen.

The key is his fitness, not if he is good enough.

I still somehow have a soft spot for he little **** despite him fcuking us over TWICE however we are in desperate need of a player who can get us goals and and more importantly a player that has scored in the EPL on a consistent basis, few and far between to say the least.

It's ridiculous for people to say Owen's career is over after his serious is injury in the world cup, he's a strong character, he's 26 and he's
bounced back from injuries in the past, who's to say he won't do it again?

Someone do us all a favour and stop this clown from starting threads,

Seriously, another Owen thread? How bored are you?

I would have had him back from Madrid... Maybe after a season at Newcy i would have welcomed him back here. But it's gone beyond sentiment now.

If he was a horse he would now have been shot!

I can't see him becoming a prolific force again, for club or country. Fair play if he does, but i've personally moved on.
The point is that even without being the pacy youthful Owen, he's STILL a top class goalscorer. He scores goals, whatever happens.

Before he got injured for newcastle - 7 goals in 11 games.

He's a prolific, world class goalscorer and he has done it at every club he's been at. What more evidence do people need??

if not adding anything new, informative, ground breaking or indeed intersting, it has at least made me chuckle.

Well said, you are so right when you say it's a myth that Owen's game was based on pace alone, absolute bollocks.

True in his younger days he often sprinted clear of defenders and slotted past the keep but after a few years and severe hamstring problems he lost a bit of pace but he adapted his game and continued to score a ****load of goals for club and country.
You dont need pace to finish moves off or get yourself in the right positions to score a goal.

He'd get us 20 goals a season easily, if we want to win the title, his goals could make all the difference.

I believe if he came back to Livrpool he would bang the goals in all day long, He's like Fowler anywhere else he went he they didnt have his heart. Liverpool is were his heart is! Only thing is he'd love to come back but Rafa i doubt wil take him back he made one of the worst decisions of his footballing live and who that will see him never to win a Champs league medal of Prem Medal.

Why stop him? He's posting something LFC related in the LFC forum and it's not offensive. I didnt realise that 'Dhavlos approval' was another necessary criteria. If you find the topic boring, it's easy to ignore...it's not as if the thread title was using a cryptic code.

I dont see why you should stop others from discussing it though, if they want to. Each to their own, surely...

Judging from his actions, that is not true.
