Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle looks set to have his season-long loan at Spanish club Recreativo de Huelva made permanent.
The 22 year-old has scored nine goals in 14 starts for the club, who it is believed now want to take up the option on the French under-21 player a complete a £4million deal.
Sinama-Pongolle has already said he would like to stay in Spain and has verbally agreed personal terms, Recreativo will raise money for the deal by selling Ikechukwu Uche to Getafe and midfielder Santiago Cazorla to Villarreal in the summer.
He's worth 4m to a team in the spanish league. That league suits his style. If he was to go to an english team I don't think we'd get that much.
4m would be a pretty good deal. Anyone know how much we paid for him? It'll make a change to make a profit on someone.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
£4m sounds about right to me, for a young internation like himself who has played for one of the top club sides in the world who can score goals and has an unpredictability about him and can play deep. I actually like Pongolle and would like to keep him as an option.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'm not sure we should sell him, why not try and loan him to a higher placed la liga team, surely one would be happy to take him, if his performances have been good enough.

But I seem to recall they have an option at 4 mill? So there really is no way we could keep him if he wants to go and they are ready to pay the 4 mill...
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

A funny one really, because i'd heard we'd be able to call him back if we wanted, then again if the 4m option is there then I doubt he's coming back.
