If you look at the qualifying record for the last ten years then you will discover that Sweden is one of the best teams in Europe.

He's ****e and he's having an extended moment in the sun at international level. He was last seen at club level coming on as an 82nd min sub at Southend. He did score the equaliser like, but no way on God's green earth is Healy good enough for us.

There aren't many good international sides, no, and there's an obvious reason.

It isn't a constant. It's literally a sideshow. They meet up periodically, train together infrequently, play games even more infrequently and yet they're expected to play dazzling football.

Spain have **** loads of fantastic players yet they are consistently poor. Same goes for England and other teams.

We've seen at virtually every major international tournament since the turn of the century that the standard isn't great. Few international teams play great, attractive football. Games are bitty, defensive and often lacking in cohesion.

Even the current world champions are unconvincing.

As for what Mums said - I'm interested in all football. I'm only passionate about Liverpool. What's to get confused about?

Of course I would. They are in the top 15 sides in the world, but that doesn't automatically make them any good.
