Brad Friedel: Should he have been sold?

This guys a rock and quite consistant. Always gets the crowd support when he visits to Anfield, seems to be a nice guy and is quite a keeper.

So why was he sold? and should he of been sold?

The Brad Friedel who played for us is very different from the one who plays for Blackburn.

He was ****e for us and couldn't get a game ahead of James and Westerveld. Says it all really...

He was sold because he didn't perform well enough for us. It seems to happen a lot for keepers - witness the difficulties ourselves and Man Utd had geeting great keepers - that it is hard to step up the extra level required for a top team.

It was the right decision to sell him. At the time he wasn't as consistent as he is now and he seemed to not have the mentality we needed.

Doesnt that make him a good keeper in anywhere then because he has little influence on open play?

I had a beer with him in a hotel in dubai last year, he was there with the blackburn squad so I invited myself over. I said,'mate I wish you'd have stayed with us at liverpool'. He just smiled and said 'that was a long time ago'.

                            Jose Ochotorena

Jose Ochotorena - or 'Ocho' as he is now known at Anfield - is the club's goalkeeping coach who came to the club in July 2004.

Ochotorena previously coached the goalkeepers at Rafael Benitez's former club Valencia and is currently also goalkeeper coach for the Spanish national side.

Ocho played a crucial role in Liverpool's Champions League final success over AC Milan in Istanbul as, a few days before the match, he asked a contact to send a video of the Italian giants taking part in a penalty shoot-out.

Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek was therefore well briefed on what to expect and the rest, as they say, is history ?
