Billy is a brilliant footballer, and someone I have felt for well over a year could cut it in the premiership.
I am from Scunthorpe, and have seen a lot of this lad over the last couple of seasons, as I go whenever I get the chance, and he is a class above any player in his league in my opinion.
He is a technically very good, and is capable of scoring scrappy tap ins, as well as some well worked and exectued goals. He is good with his head, better than any of our strikers at the minute if you asked me.
I said about a year ago on another forum that we should watch this lad carefully, as he could just maybe become a great player, and I for one hope we sign him (and not just because my signed Sharp shirt will increase in value).
And Eastwood has gone somewhat lame at Southend now, I have some mates who support them who feels he is over rated basically. Sharp matched Eastwood last season in League 1, but got few plaudits for it.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly planning a £2million summer swoop for highly-rated Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp.
The Reds boss is keen to boost his striking options in the summer and has been tracking the progress of the top scorer in League One.
Benitez will be handed a transfer warchest by new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, but despite being linked with multi-million-pound raids for the likes of Valencia's David Villa and Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o, he is keen on a move for the 21-year-old Scunthorpe ace.
According to The Sun, Benitez is eager to sign a British forward and sent scouts to watch Sharp bag a last-minute leveller in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Leyton Orient.
The striker's contract expires at the end of next season and Iron boss Nigel Adkins may be forced to cash in on his star player in the summer.
Benitez is likely to offload veteran forward Robbie Fowler at the end of the current campaign and Sharp could provide competition to Dirk Kuyt Craig Bellamy and Peter Crouch in Liverpool's forward line next term.
weve always had our best strikers from the lower leagues and the best option is not always from abroad. this lad has a clear talent and for 2 million i would.

Good stuff mate. You are probably best placed to comment on the lad. I vaguely remember the name (because it sticks out like a Roy of the Rovers type cartoon) from a game that was on TV this season and I'm sure the commentators were raving about him.Originally posted by Pedenj View PostBilly is a brilliant footballer, and someone I have felt for well over a year could cut it in the premiership.

Nothing wrong with looking for talent in the lower leagues (remember Ian Rush!) but I'm guessing that most people on here won't be too excited about it because he's not a big enough name.
And as for your shirt, hold onto it until he plays for England, with a name like that he's bound to whizz through about 17 defenders to score the winner in the World Cup final, and then on the next page...Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

You are probably thinking about the Scunny vs Villa match, he scored against them in the 2nd half, was on sky if I remember correctly, not too sure, becasue I was there that night.
We have been on a few times though, against Nott. Forest earlier in the year, where he played a huge role in a 4-1 win, grabbing a goal himself as well.
