IMO its nothing to do with his ability.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I shouldn't think that his form, or lack of, will come into it really.

My suspicion is that we'd have agreed on a fee with Marseille when the loan deal was done last year, and if they want to sign him after the loan deal ends then they'll have to pay that agreed fee.

Just hope they go through with it so that we can add some more cash to our coffers.

I don't think they will sign him if they miss out on the CL and right now they are a long way from a qualifying place.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

To be fair Houlls bought him based on his performances for Auxerre. He looked pretty good when I saw him before he came, and his speed was something he was going to bring to our sluggish front line. A gamble which could have (but didn't) pay off. Let's hope we're not writing the same about Kuyt!

In Stevies book he says that he knew Cisse was crap from the first time he saw him in a training session.

                  No he doesn't.

He does say that Cisse was the one of the most popular lads in the dressing room and should be remembered for all the important goals he scored for Liverpool football club.

But does he slate Cissé at any point? The book is currently by the side of my bed but I gave up on it ages ago....after about page 20.

                            Read it Shaggy.

                            He speaks glowingly of Cisse.

Diao is the player he was refering to when he said "I knew from the first training session he wouldn't make it".

                              Stevie said that about Diao.

Saying that, every person who've ever watched him play has probably said it too (apart from that lot at Stoke who seem to think he's ace! )!
