Right backs that IMO would be worth to sign.

    Alves
    Richards
    Heitinga
    Van den Borre
Lahm, he can play right or left.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It's Alves all the way for me, but we'll never get him now.

Sounds harsh on Finnan, to be planning a new right-back, but he's getting on a bit now.

      Arbeloa gives us possibilities though.

I still think that we will sign Alves. Why would he turn us down for any other club?

I know that Barca have first option but that doesn't mean anything if the player want a move to Liverpool FC.

Who do you think Sevilla would sell to? A rival in La Liga or a team in the PL that will match what any other club bids for Alves.

Oh I don't know mate. I just don't think he'll come now. The secret's out, so to speak, and I reckon we've missed the boat.

I'd love us to sign Heitinga, top quality RB or CB and would adjust quickly I'm sure, but is he over his injury problems?

Don't you think that says a lot about Rafa's vision, he knew he was gonna be good, and over the last nearly two seasons now he has been proved right.

I do, yeah. There's been a few who Rafa was supposedly looking at/lining up before many people had even heard of the player in question, only for them to slip out of our grasp and go on to make a name for themselves. Vidic springs to mind (never heard of him until we were linked), Alves of course (same applies). I'm sure there are one or two others.

Rafa's ability to spot a player is questioned by many, but it's clear he's suffered in that department for a lack of funds - no matter how much we've spent in total. We couldn't afford Vidic, and we couldn't afford Alves. Hopefully this will change.

Yeah, he wanted Villa before he became a big name too. I think I'd easily trust Rafa to spend the big bucks more than any manager we've had in a long time.

Of course. How could I forget that one. Those three alone represent a pretty impressive list.

and then never play for Wales again.

Every time I see his name mentioned I immediately start humming Simon and Garfunkel's "Cecilia" in my head.

                            I'm not sure it's a good sign:

                            Cicinho, you're breaking my heart
                            You're shaking my confidence daily
                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
