Riise Declared Bankrupt

John Arne Riise has been declared bankrupt by Liverpool County Court for an unpaid debt of around £100,000.
The Liverpool defender, who is thought to earn around £50,000 a week, is involved in a legal battle with his former agent, Einar Baardsen.

The case is reported to be linked to an alleged £3m fraud investigation going through the courts in Norway.

Riise's solicitors are believed to be preparing to go back to court to have the bankruptcy order annulled.

His former agent is in trouble here in Norway. Riise had way too much faith in him and signed things he shouldn`t have. It`s a bit of a mess, but Riises mistake seems to be that he`s to gullible.

He's not bankrupt. He's had a bankruptcy order made against him which is different entirely. For exampe if shaggy owed me 10,000 and decided not to pay it i could bring proceedings against him and have a bankruptcy order issued against him. What that means in technical terms is that I could then ask the court for liberty to examine his accounts, assets etc and obtain an order for liquidation of a asset to pay the debt and so forth.

His debts are only two weeks wages.

So basically his agent defrauded him, he's being declared bankrupt over money his agent owes and through a bankruptcy order which should never have gone through, his lawyers will have it annulled pretty soon, and hopefully he sticks it to his former agent in the Norweigian courts. And no Jules, Norweigian courts is not a euphemism.

Yes - Riise has just texted Fowler and asked if he could move in and carpool with him for the rest of the season. He has sold all assets and told his family that he won't be coming home for a while, unless they mail him a planeticket and promises to pick him up at the airport.
