Of course we deserve credit for making them look/play **** but we just got to be cautious as there are still areas where we need to improve.

I thought speedy played well yesterday and was always a good outlet for us when we were trying to stretch Arsenal. It's no coincidence that Arsenal had a mini revival when he went off for bolo IMHO because speedy was worrying them with his pace all afternoon. It was a good performance from the lad.

I still think that in 1 year to 18 months he will have improved enough to be a key player for us.

I completely agree. His touch and control can look loose at times but I can't remember the last time I saw an LFC winger take on and skin a full-back, never mind put a ball across goal which any other day Gerrard would have stuck in the back of the net.

Not mightily impressed as of yet, but I am certainly feeling a lot more optimistic about him fulfilling his potential with us.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

That imho is the difference. If we get 2 decent wingers in who settle, we'll see how good Utd are compared to us.

I agree, the difference between us and Utd is Ronaldo and Giggs, no wide player we have at the club will ever reach thier level. They also add tremendous pace which we do not have anywhere (except Bellamy).

I thought Pennant was excellent in the first half, faded a little in the second half but he always had the Arsenal back line worried.
Gonzo when he got going did really well and you can see the clear potential for him, the speed he shot past Eboue at was amazing he left him for dead twice and both times put in a good delivary, one which Gallas did well to clear and one where Gerrard should have finished. Not the best on the pitch, but he has the ability to improve a lot and there were glimpses of it yesterday.

i don't think he's as bad as people say. he's in a new country for starters. he's done little but i think he's been bright but erratic. he has to be given time. just something about him makes me think he's better than he's showing at the mo.

Someone I was talking to over the weekend claimed that Alan Green had said that it was well known that Crouch was definitely gone in the summer, did anyone else hear that.

I really like Crouch but he needs to work on a/ getting the ball out of his feet quicker and b/ heading. To be fair, against Arsenal he was brilliant in both these departments. Or am I being too harsh about the headers and was he better yesterday because the crossing from Aurelio was better?

If Pennant could score goals, he would be a decent squad player for us.
