We should definitely keep in Crouch, but Rafa just prefers Kuyt all-round game

I think people got upset Crouch after the Blackburn game, but in reality he has been the best striker this year

Its really odd this one, if Crouch > Kuyt, then if we are sacrificing one plus Fowler it should be Kuyt or Bellamy.

I guess Bellamy would go, but that seems very harsh

But we still (despite today) need another proven striker

JP was better today (unsurprisingly) as it was Arsenal, but I think two quality wingers would make us even more dangerous

Arebola is showing signs that he could be a long term replacement for Finnan and perhaps allow very good cover in the centre (for Sami)

Aureillo was very good again, should we give he a go next season rather spending $$$ on a new left back?

Great result, but more questions than answers
    We need better attacking players!

    Torres aint enough

Wasn't Kuyt Rafas first choice before settling for Crouch? I think its showed this season in the amount of games Crouch has played.

We just looked so much of a better side with players comfortable in possession. I'm clearly referring mainly to Kuyt, Sissoko and Riise, and I think Crouch, Mascherano and Aurelio make us a better side.
Unfortunaetly,Rafa has stumbled upon our best side while resting our "Best" players in respect to the upcoming PSV game.Only reason Crouch,Masch and gonzo played today IMHO.

I'd still take Finnan over Arbeloa, and then 2 out of either Riise, Aurelio & Gonzalez. I was chuffed with the way they combined on the left today. Very impressive. Mascherano & Alonso in the middle with Stevie playing behind the front man is also the way ahead, that's a stupidly strong midfield. If Pennant, Gonzalez & Aurelio can kick on from todays (and Pennant's last few) games then it bodes well for the future.

What a squad though, what a ****ing squad we have
....yet there's still several on here who would rather we had just signed Daniel Alves than getting the likes of Aurelio/Pennant/Bellamy/Gonzalez for similar money

All we need now is 2 or 3 for the FIRST team and we'd arguably be title contenders next season - the squad has been well and truly sorted. And with the new money we've now got the funds to go after truly top class players

I disagree with that completely. We need 4-5 top, top players before we're going to compete at the top level. At least 2 strikers and 2 wingers, and probably 1 defender as cover (Although Arbeloa seems to have settled well and can cover the fullback areas)

As for the Alves comment....There is no doubt that Alves has talent and has made an impact this season in excess of that of Aurelio / Pennant / Bellamy / Gonzo. It would have been money well spent rather than on players who cleaarly haven't ever done it consistently at the top level and won't / may not make it at Anfield. Alves is a class act and top class outsines second-raters every day of the week.
