    Rafa Eyes Arizmendi

    1 April 2007
    RAFA EYES ARIZMENDI
    By Bill Mills
LIVERPOOL are keeping tabs on Deportivo La Coruna striker Javier Arizmendi with a view to a summer transfer swoop.

Anfield boss Rafa Benitez has had Arizmendi watched as he seeks to bolster his side's firepower for an assault on the Premiership title next season.

However, Liverpool will need to battle Atletico Madrid, who sold Arizmendi to Deportivo, as they had a buy-back clause inserted in his contract that gives them first option on a £2million deal.

If they choose not to exercise that option, though, Benitez's close relationship with Deportivo head coach Joaquin Caparros could sway the balance in Liverpool's favour.

        Atletico have already signed him.

I guess that we could sign him in the summer anyway but then we would have to pay a lot more than £2m if Atletico decides to sell him to us.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

And they have already used it. It was in both Marca and AS a few weeks ago.

Not confirmed. Plus the clause has that he has to appear in the Ath Madrid - 1st team only (no loan in the first season return) -

Not a striker, an attacking midfielder, one of the most improved Spanish players in the their league

I dont mind, after what Rafa managed to get with Arebola
              We need better attacking players!

              Torres aint enough
