Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the RAFA ride

I told you we're gonna GUBB the chavs on Kurts thread, so we did by the odd goal.
This team RAFA is building is slowly but surely getting stronger by the day, beating the champs is no easy task but Rafas Reds did it with flying colours.
In the first half they played their hearts out pressuring Chelski into giving possession back. From Garcia and Crouch to Zenden & Sissoko. Terry & co could not get rid of the ball fast enough.
The second half we did not play as well but as soon as SG & XA came on we all knew POOL was gonna win the game. We had that exrta bit they didn't.
What impresses me the most is the work ethic and the willingness to win for the RED shirt. That is what LFC is all about.

So fasten your seat belts and enjoy winning #19 come next May with RAFAS REDS. G Man and I been saying it all summer.

Good celebratory post there mate. Whilst it wasn't a gubbing scorewise, we certainly outclassed them for much of the game. We're not up to full speed yet, the fitness is not quite there, but when we clicked Chavski did not have an answer. We did this without a lot of our best XI at times.
It's great news for the coming season, I can't remember where I read the quote but I remember someone saying Rafa's aim has always been the Premiership in his 3rd season. I think he'll do it, we just need to get off to a dominant start.
rnm is funny, funny like funny haha.

      Goals 2006/7 (CS, PL, CL)
1: Agger, Bellamy, Fowler, Alonso, Garcia
      2: Gonzalez, Kuyt, Riise
      5: Crouch

rafa said that his brief by parry and moores was to have a team capable of chalenging for the title inside 3 years.

Something like that, yes. I think Ballague mentioned it 12 months ago too, he said Rafa wasn't expecting to challenge in 2005/6, he was looking at 2006/7.

It was a 1 goal gubbing so shut it
Agree about fitness mate, some players look a wee bit jaded from the WC still.
I truly believe a good start will help us and looking at out schedule it is not beyone the REDS to get maximum points from the first 3 matches(SU,WHU & bitters).

I think the crucial factor in our start will be the defence and Pepe. Pepe had another stormer today in my opinion, nowt he could do with the goal, that was just Chavchenko's class.
If we start with 3 clean sheets, we're bound to score agianst those teams, and the team will continue to grow in confidence. I haven't felt this confident about our squad since 1987/88.

Thing I like about Reina is his concentration. He could stand there for 85 minutes and not make a save but then in the last 5 minutes he can make a world class save that preserves the win.
Even if we don't get 3 clean sheets we are more than capable of beating the first 3 opponenets.

I never thought Pepe for 8 million would be good business but so far it has been a bargain.
