Le Tallec has the talent, but really needs to grow-up and realise he is a tadpole in an ocean at LFC - for the sake of his career he should head back to small-ish club in France and literally start again from scratch. He is young enough to come back and make an impact.

Pongolle is more difficult - as I think he's shown in glimpses that he does have what it takes to succeed - even at LFC. However, I can't see him getting the games, and I don't really see what he can bring to our attack that other players bring more of. Bellamy matches him for pace and Luis Garcia can beat players and score important goals. I did think that he looks like he's bulked up in the pre-season, he looks pretty wide!!

Still, they don't sound like football fans to me...

After all, Gerard Houllier was once their national team manager!!!

You just lurking or is it a permanent defection?

And to think I let myself get over-excited too. I remember Tony Le T in that pre-season friendly at Crewe - his passing was absolutely outstanding. Some serious vision, and nearly every pass immaculately executed. Only a friendly I know, but I thought he was gonna be a superstar.

I have to say mate I thought the same watching that friendly, he has serious talent he just needs to play and let his confidence grow.
Let's not forget Cantona was an arrogant trouble making prick but would we have had him our team, absolutely.
I'm not saying Tony le T is another Cantona but he's still young enough to develop into a great player.

Liverpool forward Anthony Le Tallec is hoping his move to Sochaux will allow him to catch the eye of France coach Raymond Domenech.

The 21-year-old has signed a one-year loan deal with the Ligue 1 club.

"Sochaux is an ideal club for me, it will allow me to grow and develop as a football player," he told the French outfit's official website. "I am eager to grow with Sochaux.

"I have experienced a lot of things for a guy of my age and I believe I have gained mental strength from that.

"I hope I will soon play with France's Under-21 team again, but I am also hoping to be called up by France at some point. Raymond Domenech likes players who play in France."

Le Tallec has not been involved in the Reds' pre-season, but he hopes he will be fit enough to play for Sochaux against Paris St Germain at the weekend.

That decision will be taken by coach Alain Perrin, who was delighted to have signed the former Le Havre prodigy.

"I have been following his career since he started playing football and I always found him very impressive," the ex-Portsmouth manager said.

Le Tallec joined the Merseysiders along with countryman Florent Sinama-Pongolle for a combined £6million in the summer of 2003, but has found first-team football hard to come by at Anfield.

In the past three years, he has been loaned out to Le Havre and St Etienne, then spent the 2005-06 season at Sunderland as they were relegated from the Premiership.

                                Bye bye Le Tallec!

Surely, his contract will be up at the end of this season?
