no he didn't it was 0-0 and still relatively early in the game. There is no way would he risk that at that stage of the game knowing that any slip in the remaining 55 minutes or so would see him get sent off

Maybe Rafa does know he was **** but was giving him chance and time to find back his touch.
By all accounts, Kuyt wasnt a poor player as he had demonstrated in his earlier games for us when he first joined, he looked like a class player then with his vision, passing and all the running. He was almost Dalglish-like then but in recent months his form has dropped and getting more and more lost on the pitch.
Kuyt off the ball running is exceptional, He puts a lot of pressure on the opposition defence when they are in possession, he works very hard in the position behind the front man, That's where Rafa uses him when he plays Crouch.Yes he needs more goals but when the team is winning well why worry. The goals will come. Only a few weeks ago (pre hooter job) Crouch couldn't hit a barn door etc yet look at him now.

Have no doubt Kuyt is a very good player.

"Did I collect that booking on purpose?" he asked. "Well, sometimes you have to be smart but first we have to win next week and then we will know if it was smart." Dirk Kuyt quoted on the BBC online report

I just wish he'd start to demonstrate it! I can honestly say I have never seen him play a convincingly good game, even before he joined us. I'm not his greatest fan, but I hope to be proved wrong very quickly because he is a Red. Maybe he just needs a rest.
Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the goal of arriving safely in a prettily preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways in a shower of gravel and party shards, thoroughly used, utterly exhausted, and loudly proclaiming: "F*** ME, that was BRILLIANT!"

Kuyt is a good player, but let's not kid ourselves, he was ****e last night.

Poor first touch, poor passing and poor decision making. Doesn't mean he's a bad player, he just had a bad game.....and guess what.....it's OK to admit it.

                    Not be so smart if:

                    A) He gets booked in both semis and misses the final

                    or

                    B) Bellamy and Crouch play so well together he gets left out the first XI

                    Guess neithers likely though.
                    Forwards.......
