I'll give you the first two points about honest and hardworking

Nothing will convince me hes good at what he does, as I mentioned earlier hes an in between player, cant defend well enough to be a fullback and lacks enough qualities to be a left midfielder winger

The only things he has in his locker imo are a good engine and the rocket shot

Defensively his positional sense is poor, he doesnt get stuck in enough hes easy to turn, he has a poor touch and his passing from the fullback position is woeful (and people used to criticise Carragher for hoofing it)

IMO Aurelio is a far more rounded player at fullback

Remember also if Riise is such a good leftback why did Rafa pick a rightback ahead of him to mark Messi

I'm not sure Rafa rates him in defence but he has palyed his part in a record breaking clean sheet run, and as someone rightly said, its not our defence thats the problem.

He's hardly ****e. But then on the other hand he's harldy top quality either.

Sorry but i fookin hate the guy, great goals now and then but his positioning as a defender has cost us more than he has scored. And he is soooo stupid, the CL medal thing, the text message thing and now hes ****in bankrupt.
I do think we can accomodate him as LM but we need a replacement at LB.

For me he is up there with Sami, Stevie and Carra as the truly special players in our squad. Sure we have great players nay worldclass players in our team but I am attached to JAR. Never a dull tap in always a jump up out of your seat voice breaking as you shout GET IN THERE YOU BEAUTY !

He may not be the best defender in the world but hes usually very effective. Brave in the tackle with explosive pace and rocket like power. If he was Brazilian and not Ginger and Scandinavian the football world would be falling over itself with platitudes. He for me never gets the respect and credit he deserves for all he has done for this club. Sure all players have dips in form and sure he had one of these recently but I think its fair to say he earned a little time and patience from the supporters to find his touch again. Which for me recently he has.

JAR is right up there with Garcia for game changing ability. At this level it’s the ability to produce something special which a lot of the time is the difference between winning a losing. There only a handful of defenders around the world who are as Dangerous and effective as Risse. Always the way the more you gain in Attack, defense suffers but for me he has it right on.

One of my favorite Liverpool players in the Modern age, With the exception of his recent dip in form you always know what you are going to get from JAR and usually he does not let you down. And he regularly provides special moments like last night. His Goal was the catalyst for the onslaught which followed.
