The writer must be a Manc. What makes anybody think that it is £40m?

I am sure that that is what they want the press to know. I will be surprised if that is the case.

If you remember Gillett's interveiw when they bought Moore's shareholding, he said something like "naming rights might be worth one big signing a year".

I will be surprised that it is £40m only: more like £60m in season 2007/08; then £40m in the following seasons.

Also, I feel that we are nearer to the top two this season than last even if the points gap is wider. Rotation takes place if your quality players are not fresh at the begining of the season: you have to keep the players fresh. We have not had a proper pre-season apart from Rafa's first one: 2005/06 we had to qualify from the first round. 2006/07 world cup finals.

I am sure next season will be different.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Perverse though the argument is, I agree. I feel kinda dirty now.

P.S- I thought Dirk Kuyt cost 10.9 million pounds and not 9?
