CL final in Liverpool?

New owners of LFC, mr Gillett and Mr Hicks, are planning to build a new stadium for Liverpool football club. They are certain it will be the best stadium in the world (and I believe it will be).

So with that in mind, I'm more than 100% sure UEFA will pick our venue for the Champions League final in the future. Don't you?

I mean, I've been reading through this thread here at est1892 and found out that the '08 and '09 CL finals will be played in Rome ( ) and in Moscow ( )... Surely those two stadiums (Olimpico and Luzhniki Stadion) are big and stuff, but New Anfield will be bigger and it will generate the best atmosphere in the world.

So do you think CL final will be held in Liverpool somewhere in the (near) future?

And imagine Liverpool playing in the final. Woooow, that would be ****ing awe-inspiring!

To be honest I doubt it. I might be wrong but I think the city is a bit too remote and small to host a CL Final. The congestion etc on a match day are an absolute nightmare never mind if 70,000 fans from two different countries are converging for a football match.

Probably the same reason why FA Cup semi-finals aren't held in Liverpool

Perhaps you're right yeah. Never thought of this. There's no way 70000 fans are staying in Liverpool... Maybe they would stay in Manchester. I mean even for the Watford match, the hotels in Liverpool were overcrowded

I think if it comes to England it would be at Wembley ( was Wembley out of action when it was at Old Toilet ? ). They usualy choose the capital city.

We may get a UEFA cup final tho
