    Something just occurred to me...

The Greeks have a big problem with football hooligans, right ?

I'd imagine hundreds, if not thousands of hardcore Olympiacos and Panathanikos fans would fancy coming down to Athens in search of a bit of a stand off with the "famous English hooligans" too.

I know we've still got to beat Chelsea in the semis blah, blah, blah, but the more I think about the prospect of a Man Utd vrs Liverpool European cup final, the more I think it would be simply terrifying to be in Athens.

Weighing it up in my mind I genuinely cant see how an ageing Milan side, who scraped past Celtic and are fading away in their domestic campaign are going to put out such an in form Man Utd team overflowing with confidence.

I think Man Utd are as good as in the final.

Jesus, can you even imagine the build up to a Man Utd vrs Liverpool European Cup final. The tension would be unbearable.

I cant get it out of my mind.

I wish the semi finals would hurry the **** up.

I think it would be horrific outside the stadium and around the city if we met the Mancs in the final. There are enough lunatics on both sides to start a small war. I think we would be looking at another European ban for English clubs, if there was anything close to the kind of trouble that is being discussed in this thread.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

All the sensible match going mancs i know all think it will be murder, and dont want the game to happen, they know they have a knobhead element as do we and it is bound to kick off. UEFA have started to voice concern and they will have to find a solution. Realistically they should move the game but politics say it wont happen.
If we get there im gonna fly via somewhere wierd i think in no colours and put my best Welsh accent on.

I dont think so. They dont fight just for the sake of it, they do it because they hate each other. So I dont think they would be out looking for fights with English supporters.

I agree with you. We didn't have any trouble with the fans in Istanbul and they are horrific.

Some knob heads (kids, of course) yesterday were singing "we'll be running round Athens slashing Mancs..." :whatever:

Depressing thought, that. The fact that it is not out of the realm of the possible makes it all the more disturbing. I don't even want to think about the consequences of that - it took many years for English clubs to properly compete in Europe after the last ban was lifted.
