    Here's an interesting one...

    Cisse, Baros, Mellor, Pongolle, Crouch, Fowler, Morientes, Bellamy and Kuyt.

    Rafa has worked with nine strikers since he arrived at the club. There's a fair amount of talent in that lot. But do you think he has managed to coax the best out of a single one of them ?

    Personally, I dont think Rafa has a ****ing clue about buying, selling, man-managing, coaching or developing strikers.

          Cisse = ****
          Baros = ****
          Mellor = ****
          Pongolle = ****
          Crouch = Good with good record
          Fowler = Past it, but made an impact for us last season
          Morientes = Good player, but not for us
          Bellamy = Not good enough, but an improvent Cisse
          Kuyt = A striker who has actually made double figure with league goals for us in his first season and will improve.

              Both aren't good enough, but Cisse scored more goals for us.
              And in every single other area that is important for a striker to be good at? Cisse's lack of awareness and poor decision making meant the regular breakdown of team moves when he played from the start, he ultimately thrived on the games where nobody really had control and it had become scrappy. The difference in the quality of the players is not significant but Bellamy is definitely the better player for us to have, even if he does finish a couple shy of Cisse's monumental league goals tally.

                bit harsh mate, he wanted 2 of them desperately Kuyt and crouch both done a decent enough job.......half of the above he didnt buy, one is a has been, the other one a should have been( everyone was happy with moro) and he bought bellamy from the netto damaged goods section and has done ok.

                  Kuyt & Crouch doing well so far. Kuyt in his 1st season got 11 goals and counting, next season he will get the 20 goal mark I have no doubt about it. Crouch all around game is improving since we signed him & will continue to do so.

                    Regardless of whether he comes back or not I wish him well, and honestly believe that he will become a very very good player for someone. **** me the boy has had a **** time with injuries, and bad ones at that, I feel some loyalty for him because he is a Liverpool player who has just had **** luck....the hard time he is currently getting is bollocks, give the lad a chance for ****s sake....next season if played regularly, bolton anyone?, he will become a good player.
                    I betcha.

                        I tell you what RS, although I don't rate Cisse (in fact I think he's crap) I'm shocked at how poor he's been at Marseille. Injury or no injury the French league is pure dog turd and to score 3 goals all season is an utter shambles. I can't see Rafa keeping him in the squad or even the reserves next season. His LFC career is dead and by the sounds of it he'll never play for a top European side again.

                        Thanks GH
                        Desert I was in Marseilles this past Easter weekend with the family and went to watch Marseilles v Lille. Ofcourse Cisse didn't start and came on after 80 minutes and after talking to a few fans and crowds reaction when he did come on it seems like:

                        1. Some view him as a media tool, the French Beckham
                        2. The ladies love him
                        3. Some fans think he's rubbish some are thinking he will come good
                        4. For the 10 mminues that he was on, when he got the ball it was the same kick and run wih the defender knowing eactly what he was going to do and Cisse ending up fouling him

                        To be fair I was on he Cisse bandwagon before he got here and always thought he would eventualy improve but I think not. I also believe his transfer fee will based mostly on his image rights. It's a shame because I really like the lad.

                          Crouch, clearly.

                          He saw something in the player that virtually NOBODY else did. Every Red was stunned by his signing, and most people outside of LFC laughed.

                          Who's laughing now?

                          He's now our top goalscorer by a mile, will finish the season with more than 20 goals, has almost doubled his transfer value and is sitting 2nd in a glittering list of names at the top of the CL goalscorers chart.

                          I think Rafa's done pretty well with this particular striker.
                          Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
