have a few issues with this. 1- "WE NEVER HAD OUR CHANCE." Everton won the league in 63 and 70, and entered the European Cup in 64 and 71, so they had a CHANCE. 2- "just won the CWC (a hallmark to win the European Cup)" Only TWICE in 39 years has the club who won the CWC won the CL the following year. Milan in 68-69 and Juventus in 84-85. In fact, European teams Value the UEFA Cup more highly than the CWC. 3- The 85 Everton team was the best team in their history but it wasn't the best team in Europe, Liverpool was. The fact we won the double in 86 at the expense of Everton proves this. 4- Why would the LOCAL newspaper cover Liverpool better than Everton if there was more Everton supporters in the city than Liverpool? 5- Everton just wanted to build a stadium in 95, our project is part of the regeneration of the entire area. 6- If the council was pro Liverpool then why were Everton given the king docks site then instead of Liverpool?

Maybe the bluenoses might have won the European Cup if it wasnt for Heysel.... but maybe they wouldnt have.... its a pretty big maybe dont you think. Maybe you would have signed Joey from Bread to play up front and maybe you wouldnt have.

Now correct me if i am wrong but he does admit that the fact that the two sets of fans are not as close as the once where is because Everton are bitter. Every argument of his just proves the old old joke

how many evertonians does it take to change a lightbuld, yep none they stay in the dark and blame it on Liverpool.

Also as an out of towner i cant comment on who has more support in the city but i do know when they had there one home european game last year I was driving back home from just outside London and the M6 toll road was full of cars with bitter scarves. Now surely that cant be right as they are all from Liverpool.

funny enough he is right about everything he says except for the cheap shot of not knowing local lads who go to all the games. to be a big club, you have to take off the blindfolds and welcome everyone into your club, not just with lip service but with sincerity. thats the difference with us and them, we are a big club with big support, those dickheads,from the top down are 2nd rate outfit who should be looking at thompson holiday brochures cos thats the only way those ****s are getting to europe

in the week after the season closed you saw an awfull lot of bitters walking round in their club tops......................for the first time in many years they could laud it over the Reds............. they had the bragging rights..................... Then what did nasty Liverpool do?..............only went and won the damn cup.
