I'd keep him as back up to Pepe but I doubt that Carson would be happy with that. He's certainly not good enough to oust Pepe.

He was worth a punt at the price we paid but he's definitely not good enough to command 1st place.

I'm not so sure about that. First off he's English and everyone knows you pay a premium just for that alone. Secondly, Arsenal need to seek a long term solution for that position and if old Wenger likes what he sees in Carson, then he'd have to pay the going rate. There's also the possibility that other clubs may be interested, overseas and at home (although not top 4 clubs, clubs like Villa may have a bit to chuck around in the summer if their owners decide to be generous).

I just reckon it's about time we stood firm the way Seville did over Alves and Benfica did with Simao. And if we don't sell then fine, he's a quality back up. Not like we need the money.

Has anyone seen enough of Padelli to know wether he would be capable of filing in for Pepe if he were to get an injury that kepr him out for any period of time.
