In order:

Gerrard (just about shades it over Xabi) His drive, determination and influence are second to none.

Alonso - one of the most intelligent footballers around and he is one of the worlds top midfielders on the ball, for me. Himself and Pirlo are the 2 best passers in the world IMO.

Carra- Vitally important for our club. He is the talker and organiser in our side. Would make a great captain.

Crouch - Fast becoming a firm favourite of mine. Brilliant footballer. Holds up the play superbly and nearly always finds his man with his lay offs. Great feet and he is improving his heading(for goal). Far more important than Dirk Kuyt.

Riise - Is there a more dangerous left back around?

I'd agree with your top 4, but I think Mascherano is slowly creeping into that number 5 position. Reina's up there too.

Reina - How can he not be on everybodys list. Only comparable with the great dane for the speed in which he starts attacks, a problem area for years and sorted for the next ten now.
