    Make us Dream

So read the famous banner during the 2005 Champions League campaign. It was dreamlike the way we reached our date with glory - the comeback against Olympiakos, the dismantling of Leverkusen, the storming and ultimate frustration of Juventus, the nullification of Chelsea and finally the almost surreal comeback against Milan. I live out in the States nowadays and the night before each of the games I would watch the end of Shawshank Redemption where Red makes his speech - I hope I'll find my friend, I hope the ocean is as blue as it is in my dreams, I hope...
My point? Well, 2 years ago it was about dreams and hope, it was the thrill of once again competing for the top European prize, a feeling we feared may have belonged to the past. This year its different. The team is stronger than it was then, the youth looks more promising, the expectations have more foundation. I'm not living in a dream world any more, hoping nobody wakes me up. I know that this team is well capable of achieving number 6, and with the right signing or two, of number 19 as well.
Rafa, you have given us more than dreams - you've brought back the expectations of our great football club. Its a great ride. Once again its a great time to support Liverpool. I don't dream. I believe.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

    Well said.

TBH its always been great to support LFC in my time. Worst finish we've had has been 7th or 8th in the prem. Not many of my mates can say that. Theres always expectations with LFC and rightly so, we do spend the cash. Next season is a crunch one for Rafa I believe.

No doubt he will be backed in the summer and after that there are no more excuses. He's done a top job so far and having been outspent by the Chavs and having to compete with Arsenal and Man Utd who have been groomed by top managers for years is tough. But once he has spent the cash he will have to deliver on a domestic level.

I think he'll et it right. A glance at players he tried to sign but failed due to lack of cash says it all. He enquired about Eto'o, Villa, Alves, Vidic and Evra before they hit the heady heights they're at now, but missed out due to financial constraints. I look forward to the summer.
    Forwards.......

        Yeah, good post.

It's great to see a new generation of youngsters following the Reds due to the CL and FA wins in the last 2 years. I'm spotting a lot of Liverpool tops being worn at my sons club and that makes me very very happy. Rafa has made that possible IMO.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

True, even over here in Ireland all the kids seem to be wearing Liverpool jerseys with no AIG ****erags in sight. Very encouraging. All thanks to Rafa.
