I was hoping The Arse would get through so I could go. I drink with a few gooners and we had this big night planned but they go and **** it up.

So much for Arsenals 'young guns' being all that.

Although a lot of the best ones no longer play for their youth side and do play in the PL.

Theo Walcott and Aramand Traore are the only ones eligable to play in the youth cup?

My point was really that when people talk about the quality of their youth they mean that they get players into their side or to a high level that they can sell (Quincy/Stokes etc.). At youth level it is not really about success at the time but wether the players are prepared for a future at the highest level. I think without a doubt Arsenal have the best recent record of producing players that will move into their team.

Most of Arsenal's youngsters have been purchased by Wenger, much like what Rafa has started doing with us. The last player Arsenal brought through from scratch was Cashley Cole. West Ham have a much better record at producing/developing London's young talent IMO.

Certainly West Ham have a better record of developing from local youth to decent PL level. Players like Joe Cole, Rio Ferdiand and Frank Lampard only really became top players once they moved on. Arsenal are the only team who seem capable of taking young talents to the level needed for a CL challenge at their club. Admittedly they are also excellent at scouting the correct talent and have the funding needed to buy it in.

Hammill won't be playing, obv, and nor will Antwi (Accrington Stanley), Idrijaz (Luton) or Anderson (too old?).

                        Would you like your coat?
