For some reason I was expecting that text on the plate to be mirrored? (in reverse) for the printing

      So did I!

I think I'll ask him for better pictures before I pass on any details TBH.

I'd also guess that its an offset plate made from Aluminium?

I've not seen a steel offset plate in years but then again I haven't seen the mirrors printing setup??

if it was the original i could be interested. Keep us posted anyway mate, wouldn't pay that money for a copy though.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Those things can be reproduced at will. The original will most probably be covered in ink from the printing press and discarded a few days after the printing of the newspaper.

The one in the photo will simply be the original page from that days mirror burnt onto a brand new plate.

If that is the case, it's worth nowhere near the money being talked about.

It sure aint. The cost of the plate is somthing like £1 or £2 pounds. Obviously the value is in the rarity of the iteam. Given that the only people who would be able to reproduce would have to work for at a Mirror printing plant.
