It's a shame that this our best target at the moment but at least it's sorted out now, would like to see us stay 3rd, at least then we haven't regressed on last yrs position, although with a slightly lower points total.

Same for Arsenal as well, also guaranteed.

Therefore leaves 5 teams chasing 3 UEFA Cup slots:

          5 Everton 35 15 54
          6 Bolton 35 -3 54
          7 Reading 35 6 51
          8 Tottenham 34 -1 50
          9 Portsmouth 34 5 49

That means both Bolton and Everton will be playing hard next weekend when they play Chelsea and Man U respectively - so they don't lose their UEFA Cup spots. I just hope Everton don't roll over like they usually do against the Scum.

Reading have quietly gone about their business, not got half the press Sheff Utd, Watford (promoted sides from last season) Wigan, West Ham & Charlton have, yet are almost in Europe next year.

Can I just say a huge well done to Reading & Coppell.

Let's hope Plug is out against Milan and the Bitters. The Scum look so vulnerable at the back. Shame Big Dunc still is n't on their books. I was really hoping Cattermole was going to do Ronaldo good and proper today.

                    FWIW:

Given we've done everything else in a European Cup Final, how about we win it from 1-0 down with 10 men against Utd...one of our lads gets sent off for putting Ronaldo in hospital.

Can hardly see that bieing part of the team brief though.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Any kind of score draw or better would do me. Couldnt take the agony like last time at anfield. I was nearly physically sick when i thought Gudjohson (sp?) had scored.

If we come home with a 1-1 or better I'll be happy.
