One thing about tonights game ...

... that I'm weary of, is the fact we've not played highly competitive matches for quite a long time, whereas Chelsea are involved in all competitions still. Don't get me wrong, we'll be fresher for it yes, but my point is that Chelsea will be on an adrenalin run, and could be that split second quicker in challenges & decision making for the game.

The key point for me is the first 20-30 mins. That's where the shape of the match will define itself and I expect Chelsea to start with a high tempo. We should be ready for that as our easier schedule may be detrimental to us.

I fear Chelsea's counter attacking game for the second leg, so we must make the difference tonight ... At least a score draw would be acceptable.

mmm ... Nerves are getting at me earlier than I envisaged.

Need to immerse myself into work.

Work is gonna be hell for me today as I sit with 2 chelsea fans.

Tomorrow could therefore be great or terrible.

I'm gonna get no work done today

I thought that I could go through it easily as I have some work to be done but the mancs winning yesterday has got me nervous.

We need to reach that final.

Don't think I was this nervous 2 years ago!!........I think we could nick an early goal tonight then play counter attack football. If Carvalho is missing that's a gaping hole left in the centre of their defence.
          Dare we believe

But don't you fear about our lack of competitive match practice ?

Feck work. I haven't done anything at work today and it still only 3.30pm. Feck 2 and half hours to go before I can leave the office. KO is 2.30am local time where I am, guess I'll be too fecking nervous to catch at a few hrs of sleep before the game starts. Hate this. If Chaves play the way they played against Barcodes, we'll score 2 goals by half time and defend the whole 2nd half. Unfortunately the Chavs will raise their game today. The key for us is concentration, especially during time added on and solid defending at set-pieces.

I was looking through Chelsea's results for the past few months, and when they've conceded goals it's almost always been in the first 30 minutes. But they are also adept at coming from behind.

We were the last team to beat them, and it's about time we won one at Stamford Bridge. I'd take a 1-nil win.

that's one of them but does anyone have any stats on the percentage of chelsea's goals that are scored in the first 10 mins after half-time and the last 10 mins of the match? maybe i'm wrong but it just APPEARS to me like they score a lot of goals at these times

Fredo - to be honest, I don't think games like this need motivation. The comparative lack of very competitive/must win games won't affect us.

If anything, they might be very tired...
