Anyone see Ranier's comment re Rafa in todays Sunday Times.......
said Rafa hasn't spent a lot of dough but has put a remote control in the team - all the players seem to move as if pre-programmed!!

Classic I thought - just like Valencia [the crushing machine] Rafa has got the players doing exactly what he wants - now all he needs is someone to score all the chances we create

As for Ranieri, I do see his point. I find it amazing the way Rafa has the team set up so they all seem to be in tandem - when the ball goes forward you see the whole team push up, when the ball comes back the whole team falls back as well.

Ideally suited for the European game. Unfortunately it's probably not expansive enough to win us the domestic title

I can see the point that we often play a pressing game with every player at least trying to do that - moreso with Cisse and Nando gone and replaced by the tireless Bellamy and Kuyt.

The difficulty comes from the lack of end product through our midfielders or when the pressing stuff goes to extreme, such as when Kuyt moves so deep & wide.

didnt carra say early last season that when rafa 1st came everyone hated training cause the spent so long postion training and training without the ball. but you can defo see the results
