Striker Djibril Cisse believes Liverpool should invite him back to Anfield once his loan deal with Marseille expires at the end of the season.

The erratic France international was offloaded back to his homeland at the beginning of this season after failing to make the grade on Merseyside, but would now relish the opportunity to return to the Champions League semi-finalists.

Talks over the former Auxerre goal ace's future have not yet commenced, but Cisse has clearly stated where his priorities lie.

"I never said that I wanted to leave [Marseille]. There is an option to use or not," Cisse told Le Parisien. "We haven't talked about that yet. There will be a time when we will sit down and talk.

"If Liverpool ask me to come-back, the conversation is over. Let's wait for them. It is a lot of money, it is risky. But I know myself and I would pay the 12 million euros for Cisse."
Cisse's stay on the south coast of France has not been entirely successful, and over recent weeks he has become the target of abuse from certain sections of the Marseille crowd who are unhappy with the former Auxerre man's form. But nevertheless, the 25-year-old claims he would be happy to stay and try to win over the boo-boys should Liverpool decide to discard him.

He added: "I am from here so I would be happy to stay."

thats cool, let him buy himself then he can play for whover he wants

He has scored 2 goals in 2 game so there is still hope that we can get the 8£ m for him if he continues to get his fitness back. Coming back from a 2nd leg break ain't easy. I can't believe the comments made by some posters here. A bit OTT.

Sorry mate I was prepared to give him time but the FA Cup Final was the last straw for me. He moaned and complained most of the way through the game.
Hobbled around with a bandage on his leg ans as soon as we won it he runs almost the full length of the pitch dancing like a schoolgirl.
He's a fake and we are better shut of him.

Arsenal might want him to replace Thierry Henry...

I think its really out of order the way he gets slated on these forums. He's not as bad as some people are making out.His goalscoring record to games played is quite impressive(better than 1 in 2). He was hardly played in his natural position, and when he came over, chelsea got dogbreath at the same time and we all were saying how we had the better deal, and at first it seemed that way.

But now beacause chelsea play to dogbreath's strengths,he has had the season of his life.Cisse out scored Dogbreath for the last two seasons in france before they came over here.He hasn't had the chance to be judged properly, and to be called the things that some of you have called him is just out of order.

I can't imagine many players coming back once from the injury he had let alone twice in the space of 2 years.Give the guy a break!(i'm not talkin about bones either for all you smart arses).

I think,if i'm not mistaken,it was his goal which got us back into the game to start with, was it not?
