I would love it if we won it for the 6th time that would be a massive achievement for the team and Rafa and a great send off for Moores and even better start for the Yanks, what better publicity for our attack on the world in Marketing terms having the Champions League in the bag and it will show all the players that Liverpool is going to be the club that will furfil there ambitions.
I seriously cant wait for Wednesday and Anfield for the second leg is gong to be amazing!!!!!!!!!!When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

When the heat is on we have the balls (FA CUP, CL). United? Chelsea? Don't think they do. We have the mentality, we will crush themOriginally posted by bradsdad View Postwell i hope red al is right..i am very nervous..chelsea owe us one and so do milan....any of the games could all be decided by a mistake or a piece of genius or a little bit of luck(and the scum seem to have that in abundance against us)..

We'll beat Chelsea on Wednesday night.
I read something interesting from John Terry the other day regarding the semi final at Anfield in 2005. He said and I quote, "Losing that match was the worst moment of my life, I wont let it happen again, trust me". I'm sorry, but quite simply John, that's bollocks. Total and utter bollocks.
Forget that 'it's their turn' nonsense, cast aside notions of revenge, regret and remorse. Football and life for that matter is ruthless. The greater minds and hearts usually rise to the surface. Superficial strength will always falter in the face of more historic resilience. Without fail.
We've got players who know what it's like to be 3-0 down in a European Cup final. Supposedly beaten and humiliated. We've got lads who know what it feels like to make 100, 300, even 500 appearances for Liverpool football club. To wear the captain's armband, to play in cup finals, to win penalty shootouts and to score last minute winners to keep kopite dreams alive. Combine this with footballers that haven't won so much as a smartie their entire career like Kuyt, Masher, Arbeloa and Pennant. It's the perfect blend between hunger and experience. They should be absolutely no inferiority complex. No fear.
We're fresh, fit and focused. Chelsea are tired, deflated, depleted. Despite everything you may have read or heard Chelsea are a shadow of the side that swept aside team after team in such a robotic manner for two straight title-winning seasons. I think the surface of Abramovich's hollow empire has been scratched and I think we can all see a hollow, weak underbelly waiting to be slit on Wednesday night.
**** domestic football for a moment, when we compare the two managers, the gap between ourselves and Chelsea widens further. For all his faults, Rafa Benitez has rarely, if ever got it tactically wrong in Europe. Barcelona away, PSV away, Leverkusen away we put our foot down, dominated at the right time and scored. Against Chelsea and Juventus away we took a different approach and stifled them, choked them, to death, safe in the knowledge that the presence of Anfield had or would make all the difference.
I believe away in Europe is Rafa's specialty. That's where his genius lies. In contrast, I think Mourinho is at his weakest at home in Europe. Draws against Porto and Valencia should be glaring evidence of that. This is a battle Rafa will surely emerge victorious from. In fact, **** 'surely', he will emerge victorious. We'll win.
Arrogant ? Absolutey. But it's this essential, deep-rooted arrogance that has been so central to our historic success and will be fundamental to our future.
So wherever you are on Wednesday night, the pub, at home, on the other side of the world hunched in front of a computer screen praying the stream doesn't buffer, or....if you're one of the lucky few the ground itself, fear nothing and remember who we are, what we've achieved and what we're on the brink of.
We're a bigger, better, and altogether greater football club. Chelsea are **** all. They're nothing. Grudginly respect what they've done the past two years but simultaneously recognise that when it comes to crunch matches against clubs such as ourselves, they **** it up. And there's a fundamental reason for that that lies far deeper that Garcia's ghost goal or Gudjohnson's miss.
We're Liverpool and we will lift number six in Athens in late May. I am sure of it.

I think we'll beat them home and away. It's just a feeling, but there are things in our favour:
-We've beaten them in 3 out of the last 4 games. Rafa seems to have the measure of Jose.
-They have injuries and suspensions.
-We've had good preparation, a couple of wins without apparently too much effort.
-If they're as wound up as they say they are, I doubt that'll help their game. Cool heads win games.

First of I've no idea if we will win the CL, its a lottery now IMO. One dodgy decision and your out, one poor display and your out. Its the beauty of knockout football.
What I will say is that we may not have a better chance for a long while. There's not many sides who concistantly get to the latter stages of the European cup and win it. The Barca "dream team" of the 90's only won it once. We may have a better team next year and beyond, but its not always the best teams who progress, never mind win it.
Teams have to make the most of their opportunities whilst they are there. Football appears to go in cycles, you can never tell when the pendulum will swing in another teams favour. From invincible Arsenal to 4th place mediocrity and board room in fighting.
All we can do is support the team to the full, and I ask any fan following the reds during these important games to do what they do best, sing their hearts out.
Red men, we salute you!
Forwards.......

It was a bit of a stoned ramble, I had no intention of making it that long.Originally posted by Red_Polo View Post**** me, that's a highly positive post, Jamo. Where did you copy and paste it from?
I usually leave the chest-pumping 'lets av em' stuff to other people.
We're bound to lose 2-0 now.
