In the long term I agree, but for now he is definitely worth his starting place. The only midfielder we have with more assists is SG with just one more to his name having played more often.

I think Pennant easily warrants his place in the first 11 at the moment, irrespective of goals. We have been crying out for seasons for a player who can hug the by-line and he is now starting to look like that player. Whether he carries this through until the end of the season, and then onto next, I don't know, but for the time being I am very happy with him.
