FFS, what's your problem today ? Next time you see a Gerrard thread, stick out of it please.Originally posted by Mumsafan View PostHe can motivate his team mates without the rest of the world having to hear about it. He's not actually very good at this talking to the media ****e and he doesn't enjoy it, it shows. I bet he'd prefer not to do it as well.
I'd rather Carra just stand there and say "We're gonna focken batter em" than all that other nonsense.

So priviledged? What do you mean?? Should footballers turn round to the clubs and say 'sorry mate, it wouldn't be right. Pay me £30k a year like normal folk.'Originally posted by tomasjj View PostNot this for instance:
"People have this image of footballers now, driving flash cars, leading incredible lifestyles, having all that glamour.
"But there are sacrifices too, big ones through all your young life if you want any chance of making it. Behind the glitz I've had to give a hell of a lot of blood and sweat over the years, some tears as well......"
They are so priviliged. They have no idea...
"I want to be remembered as a captain who lifted the trophy twice, or even more. I want to be remembered along with..."
Me me me.. What is new.
Sorry, but I still cannot hold SG in such a high regard after his Chelsea flirtings before, and he is a bit of an ego without perspective sometimes.
Its not like professional footballers leave school at 16 like the rest of us, and suddenly decide to be a footballer either. There is a ****load of dedication and hard work. So yeah, whilst the rewards totally outweigh the work put in, I dont think its a slur on Stevie to say things like that personally
Me Me Me, what is new
Hmm, did you ever play football as a kid? Or go to games?? I did, and it was always ME ME ME then. I never thought about the good of a team 20 years in the future........!
Think it was a tad harsh mate, thats all
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Maybe it is harsh.
I am in a foul mood.
Me me me, what is new?
Well, doesn't mean that it is right does it?
I did play, for many years...it was always about the team, at least for me.
Sacrifices? Well, I am not saying he shoudl turn down cash or anything. He just shouldn't talk about the topic to the media, no matter what he thinks. It makes him look stupid imo.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

To be fair, its Stevie being Stevie. Great footballer, not the quickest of cats though.

It is exactly the sort of thing you want your captain to say, just before he delivers a somewhat overdue performance against the chavs in the biggest stage of all. One step gone now please deliver.
As far as footballers being priviledged yeah they are, but at the end of the day they have been dedicated to something all their lives and are reaping the rewards, anyone who begrudges them that is just pissed at themselves that they missed the boat. While some kids were at home playing nintendo or whatever, kids like Gerrard were going straight from school to training and then back to school again, sacrificing their usual childhood to get what? No guarenteed job unless they make it. Fair play to the dedication and balls it takes to try to be a top flight footballer when you are a kid.You walk down road.
Right side, ok. Left side ok. Through middle. Squish, just like grape.
Same with Karate.
Either you karate do yes, or karate do no. Karate do think so, squish. just like grape.
