    The man we call "God"....

    More good news, IMO...
Lest we forget, what with our 2 new strikers, we still have a striker called Robbie Fowler on our books.

Robbie is now 5 kilos lighter than when he joined us in January - he's now at his perfect "fighting weight".

The coaching staff are apparently delighted with Robbie's pre-season and are expecting him to play an important role for us this season.

I am really looking forward to this season....

I keep getting laughed at for saying it, but I think were gonna see something like the old fowler this season. No, he`s not gonna get anything ridiculous like 36 goals as he did in his heyday, but I am expecting at least 20 odd goals from him. Also, he will create a hell of a lot more goals than he used to

I don't think he'll score 20 for the simple reason he won't play enough.

I've also noticed that he's become somewhat of a supplier of goals for his strike partner, with some quality through balls/crosses.

        Happy Birthday Disco.
Have noticed that about Robbie too, looks like he is really trying to improve his possibilities this summer, which Rafa will have been impressed with, I dont think he has the pace to be the out and out poacher he once was so has maybe worked a little harder than usual at his creative game. Great to see him putting the effort in like that. Im not a religious person, but I still believe in God.
Think i'l use that as my new signature.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Hopefully, it won't just be what Fowler does on the field that helps the team but what he does off it too.

We have bought quite a few into the team this year and a lot of the lads coming through are ones that Rafa has bought so there is a need for the local lads to really show what this club is all about.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I reckon Fowler's role is becoming more like Sheringham's, the older he gets..

4 Top end strikers each with a responsibility of 15 goals apiece.

Add in a sprinkle of Gerrard with 15 goals

Plus a dash of Riise 5 goals

a dabble of Gonzalez 5 goals

and maybe even touch of Hyypia 3 goals

and should have enough fire-power for the league.

I'm sure Robbie has a big part to play for The Reds this season.

He showed us at the end of last season that he can still score goals and with a good pre-season behind him, despite a little injury, I'm sure he'll battle hard for a starting place this season. With him, Kuyt, Bellamy and Crouch all desperate to play regularly it'll become a great battle for places with everyone trying to impress when they play - which can only be good for the club.

Rafa'll have a really tough job on his hands to keep 'em all happy and to pick the right team/formation each game. Rafa's Rafa though, and I have total faith in him to get it right, but only time will tell. What I do know though is that we have a great blend of strikers at the club now, once Kuyt officially signs, with Bellamy offering great pace and running abilities, Crouch and Kuyt offering aerial abillity and great hold up play, and Fowler with his natural instincts as a goalpoacher and more. They all offer goals too!

I haven't seen our squad looking so healthy, talent wise, for a very long time and with a manager of Rafa's abilities we really can cause a stir in the coming seasons.

Read a review of last nights game and Fowler was compared to Jari Litmanen for his vision and passing ability in the game!!
                    Dare we believe

I know, it's so exciting when you think about it isnt it. We can now afford to have injuries and still have a really dangerous team out. This squad is a million miles away from anything GH done in over twice as many years.
