    HArd one.
Daggar could have chanced on a tackle after drogbas burst of speed, and Arbeloa let Cole in front, but Cole came from behind him, so it isn't easy.

Agger couldn't cope with Dogbra at all tonight, he got the piss taken out of him IMO.

That said, I don't think it'd be fair to lay the blame entirely at his feet - yes he should've done more, but Arbeloa just didn't want to win that ball enough, hence he was second best.

Incidentally that was by far and away the newbies worst game for us - horrible horrible sense of timing, but I suppose after making such a great start there was bound to be a time when it all came crashing down

Soemone tell me what Carra was doing there, then. Dagger had Drogba as best he could... the cross went right past Carra, who was marking no one.

Not tyring to pick a fight here, but we were all a little stunned at that...

I thought Carra could've got a foot to the cross if he'd lunged...

He was covering for Agger, like defenders do.
He could have gambled that Agger would stop Drogba and tried to snuff out the pass, but it is a tough one.

YEp, arbeloas first bad game for us.

Agger was better in the 2nd half when he just stood near Drogba without trying to win the ball in the air, our other defenders then snatched the 2nd balls all the time.
                Much better.

Agger should have broke Dogbreath's leg, if not, Carra should've cut out the cross, if not Areola should have kept up with Joe Cocksucking Cole and been a yard in front when the ball came across, if not, Reina should've reached 4-5 inches more with his left hand.

I'd rather we'd played Fat Harry on the left than Zenden....FFS!

Carra's allowed to do that - he was relying on the covering defender to get the runner and was trying to cover space. Zero blame to him IMO

Blaming Agger is harsh IMO, you just have to give Dogbreath credit for his strength and skill to flick the ball back. Carra was covering and had his back to Cole so to try and blame him is ludicrous.

If people want someone to lay it on, it's Arbeloa. He just completely lost Cole and wasn't committed enough

I think that Kuyt should have rattled Carvalho on the edge of their box. The problem never lay with a single player though it was a defensive mistake by the full team. You simply can't allow players of that quality that much time and space or they'll punish you.

I agree. They're to blame (as well as Clive Tyldesley)
