    Hammill waits on Rafa

    Hammill waits on Rafa
By Steve Bramley - Created on 26 Apr 2007

Adam Hammill says he will "respect" Rafa Benitez on whatever choice the Liverpool boss makes about his future.

The 19-year-old Reds winger is on loan at Dunfermline and has helped The Pars reach the Scottish Cup final.

He is due to return to Anfield at the end of the season when he should learn if Benitez will include him in his plans for next season.

"When it was decided I was going out on loan I could have stayed down south and played Championship, League One or League Two," Hammill told The Courier.

"But I don't think I'd have got a cup final under my belt or secured a Uefa Cup place for the club.

"Coming here was the best move I could possibly have had."

Hammill, who is still waiting for his Liverpool debut, says he would also consider going out on loan again if Liverpool want to keep him.

"I don't know what next season will hold for me, whether Rafa Benitez will want me to go back out on loan somewhere. But I'll respect his decision," he added.

Good attitude from the lad. Hope he stays and gets his chance.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I think he would be best served on loan at a championship club next year or even a **** premiership club charlton, villa etc. I am hoping for at least 1 world class winger coming in which could hamper his opportunities further

If a world class winger comes in then we could ship out the player there now and make Hammill the deputy.

What if Hammill doesn't reach the sufficient level.
Personally Id still bring in a right sided winger and see how Hammill gets on pre season in some of the friendlies. Prob. what Rafa will do anyway. Pennant has been improving too much for me to ship him out at the moment.

If Pennant had improved that much then he would have played against Chelsea.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Pennant has improved alot from his early season displays for us. Maybe Rafa wanted a more physical presence against Chelsea hence the decision to play Zenden and Gerrard on the flanks, which I think personally think is the case.

When you are naming **** premiership sides how can you not include Neverton in that list Not that I'm suggesting Hammill should go there as we want to see him improve his game not go backwards :bird:

does hammill play on the left or right? Sure i've seen him on the left but is he not right footed?

If he's a left winger then i'd happily have him back to compete for a place seeing as kewell's future is questionable and speedy hasn't worked out so far.

If he's a right winger it depends on how similar he is to pennant. If he can compete against pennant next year then i'd cash in on pennant next January or next summer and keep hammill.

Been impressed with the lad, they've took to him north of the border. He seems to be always ready to get back up for more, if he has the potential its good character building stuff, far better than wasting time in the reserves. We haven't had one of the lads come through the reserves and shine at 1st team level for far too long.

Hammill is NOT ready for the first team, not even for deputy.
