Nah, he isn't very dominant in the air like Hyypia. I know Micah has been mainly playing right back at Citeh but that is because Dunne and Distin (sp?) have formed a solid partnership but with Distin leaving on a bosman this summer he will move into the centre of defence which his boss has said is his best position. Hyypia is still great but showing his age. I`d hate for him to become what Dudek has become (figure of riducule)
Palletta is raw and in the wrong league and that leaves Hobbs,Antwi.

Richards is exactly the sort of player we should be after, young talented and English. He's clearly the best young defender in the country and will be truely top class in a 2 years or so. £15m isn't cheap but then again quality doesn't come cheap. I could see him taking over from carra in 2 or 3 years time. until then he'll get his share of games at RB and CB.AKA Heighway No9Comment
