For 15mil though, he has done nothing to show he is worth this.

            Listen up.

£15m is deffo too much money for Richards - but the lad looks to have real quality about him aleady and will improve even further with Rafa's guidance.

If we wanna seriously compete with the other two then we've gotta get over this hang-up that players aren't worth the kinda money the clubs are asking and bite the bullet and pay it. Man U gave spurs 18 big ones for Carrick and we all laughed our cocks (or fanny's ) off didn't we? Well next week the mancs may be crowned champs so who's laughing now?
Alves was another player we baulked at the price - and we missed out (and got Pennant). Simao was another..... etc etc

If we wanna compete with the chavs and mancs and seriously have a go at getting the title back then we simply must compete for the Richards and Bales' of this world. Either that - or we accept our fate to be a top four side for the forseeable future.

By the way, is "cop on" like "jog on" if you're a bizzie?

Wholeheartedly agree. A shame that i'm not sure Rafa does, but we'll know for sure this summer!

Yeah but with young players their value is always based on potential. And his is huge. Remember the kid's only 18, already has a full cap for England, has been blessed physically (he'll be a monster in a few years), can defend better than any others his age and offers a threat going forward too. Not to mention being a beast in the air. He could easily move inside eventually and by the time he's 21 be one of the top defenders in England - easily worth £15m.

Personally I think it's a lot too, but anything £12m or under I'd snap him up. Most promising young English defender in years.

You could compare him to Sergio Ramos a few years back - only more solid and more gifted physically
