The good thing about this is everytime our players see the ref, they'll remember what they're capable of in terms of pulling off results. Huge bonus this.

I think it's a shocking decision to let a spanish ref be in charge of our game. It was only last week when a few on here were ranting when it was thought that a guy from Russia was going to referee the 1st leg.

I think Maureen will have a rant about it pre match anyway mate
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I just hope this isn't one where it could work against us, in terms of him giving decisions to the Chavs to not make it look like he's favouring the Spanish contingent.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

We are an English team, not Spanish. The Spanish ref will not be influenced by the fact there are Spanish players on our team. That proposition is ****ing ridiculous and not the one Tom alluded to.

It may be ridiculous, but like it or not, before the CL Final in Istanbul there was talk about whether he would favour us - I think Rafa was asked about it in a pre-match press conference, and as ridiculous as the notion is, when people start asking the main people involved about it it becomes an issue.

                    LMFAO

Why do I get the feeling your opinion would change if a Russian or Portuguese referee was in charge of our game?

I guarantee it wouldn't be an issue.

I NEVER look out to see what nationality the ref is ever. A ridiculous notion. Don't lump me in with other idiots.

Gut feeling; we're gonna do em.

I mean we can't have a second rate club in the European Cup final. Chelsea - European Cup finalists. Doesn't look right does it?
