I believe it will come down to what other players are available and how much they will cost. I can't see Rafa signing Eto'o for £50m for example if he can get Huntelaar, Alves and Richards for the same price.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I don't think Rafa will go for BEnt now that he has top dollar.

He will cost £40m+ and it could easily be £50m+ because a lot of the big clubs have a lot of money to spend this summer.

Huntelaar, Tevez or Bent would be my guess.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

eto'o has so much quality its hard to see him not fitting in! we need top quality up front that was proven last wed eve when we didn't even create a semi decent chance! if he became available i think rafa should break the bank!

I didn't thought that we would sign Kuyt because I was told that we didn't had the money to sign him and I didn't thought Rafa would sign a player with a bad mentality like Bellamy, not exactly a Rafa type of signing.

Moores loaned Rafa the money so he could sign Kuyt. Not easy to know that he would do that.

I agree that I had wrong in both of the above cases but that shouldn't surprise anyone.

on thing in our favour is barca are desperate for a physical defensive midfielder. i like momo but with masher, alonso and stevie we can pick two from three and afford to let momo go in p/x and bring in someone as 4th choice, that or keep zenden of course.

as for eto'o doing well in the prem he has pace, strength and very good touch. nando was found a bit wanting in the first two unfortunately.

Eto'o Would be a signal to the rest of the prem that we are back at the top table of football.

the new owners said we will have funds and be able to match the scums of this world, this is there first chance to show waht they are made of.

I believe that Eto-o IF he moves anywhere he will be playing for us.

I would be massively, massively disappointed if our new striker for next season turned out to be Darren Bent.

utterly gutted, we need world class matchwinners bent is a good player but he is nowhere near that class!

Rafa has made it clear that he wasn't happy with the lack of money he had to spend under David Moores and the board, yet he purchased players between £5m and £10M+ or so. Now people keep saying that Rafa doesn't buy big name players? Big name players come into the bracket of £15m+.

So are there players out there worth this amount that aren't "big name players"? I don't think so? It seems clear to me that Rafa intends to take us to the next level and to do this he knows we need to bring in the very best quality that is available.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside, today said "To go from fifth to fourth place in the Premiership isn't another £10m, it's about £100m", and he's not far wrong. You will occassionally have a club that punches above its weight for a season, but it doesn't tend to last very long. For us to go to our next level is going to cost us big, and Rafa, Gillett and Hicks all know that.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

three world class players should do the trick i reckon. 1 striker 2 midfielders. plus a few decent squad players and youngsters and we will have a title condending team.

i cant see us spending 50 million though so some compromise will have to be made.
