Agent warns Valencia over Liverpool, Chelsea target Villa

Agent warns Valencia over Liverpool, Chelsea target Villa
    tribalfooball.com - April 30, 2007

The agent of striker David Villa admits Valencia must upgrade his contract if he is to stay at the Mestalla next season.

Chelsea and Liverpool are among clubs chasing the Spain international and his agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, said: "He is waiting for an improvement of his contract.

"In England, they would pay Villa £4 million-a-year. Juventus would go up to £3.5 million-a-year.

"Valencia is a club with limited finances. It is no Real Madrid, nor Barcelona, nor Chelsea, nor Inter Milan. Valencia are very lucky to have such a player in their team.

"At the end of the season they will have to choose between whether they want to build a champion team with stars or listen to the offers that are going to arrive."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

That sounds pretty pathetic and makes him sound like a mercenary. Did it really need to be said in public?

Roughly translated as, "I've convinced my client i can get him a better deal, making me richer in the process".

An agent would never try to unsettle a player and engineer a move.

Chelsea offer to double Villa's Valencia deal
                tribalfooball.com - May 01, 2007

Chelsea have made a double-your-money contract offer to Valencia striker David Villa.

AS says Chelsea have tabled Villa a deal worth £3 million-a-season - over double what he earns at Valencia.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to offer £40 million to land the Spain international ace.

For 40 million they can have him. He's not of the same class as the likes of Etoo, Henry, Drogba or even Van Nistelrooy and he could well struggle in the premiership.
