I know people have their reservations but he is a quality player IMO. To secure him at that fee would be a very good start to our summer transfer dealings.

I rekon so. My prediction for ages has been two £10m-£15m signings and one bigger one as a sign of intent from the new owners. Simao is a good goal scoring midfielder. He's scoring record for both Benfica and Portugal are very good. For Benfica 0,38 goals per match & 0,24 goals per match for Portugal. Same time Quaresmas' record is 0,19 goals per match for Porto. I couldn't find assists stats, maybe someone else with better googling skills can find them?
He is also excellent set-pieces taker, which is a big improvement for us.
