what about when people guess at 9-0 and name almost every player in our squad to score, say for us against a crap team, is there anything in place to stop such predictions accumulating points, say deducting points for incorrect goal scorers, half a point maybe per goal scorer.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Actually, in jest I did introduce a clause like that in one of the early weeks, but never carried it through. Instead we agreed to change the scoring to give 10 points for getting it spot on instead of what was originally 5. Now, although someone who consistently predicts ~9 - 0 (ie. Hansi, MattShark) may pick up more points for getting the scorers, in a normal season they will probably never actually get even one prediction bang on, so never accumulate the big scores. Wins are also by far the most heavily predicted results, so the big-predictors tend to only gain one or 2 extra points for the scorers on most players when lfc win well.

The top 36 players have all got atleast one game spot on. In practice, when looking at the whole table, those who take the '9-0' approach make sure they don't come last, but don't really have a cat in hells' chance of troubling the upper parts of the table. So I haven't thought activating a penalty of some sort to be at all necessary
