    Harry Kewell

At the present moment our weakest link is down the left flank.

In the two legs Zenden did next to nothing. He may have beaten Ferreira once and got one good ball in. Riise at left back was more of a threat. We don't really have anyonme to cover JAR at full back, so he probably is not an option for the left midfield role in Athens.

If HK gets some match time in our next two games, he may well play in the final, at Zenden's expense.

The other option is Speedy, but he seems to have tapered off recently, so Harry could very well be a surprise inclusion in 22 days time!

I rate Speedy. I know he hasn't set the world on fire this season but he's technically very good, can score goals and (despite what people say) can cross a ball.

He's a young kid from Chile - give him a chance to settle in.

I've yet to see any of the techniques you were talking about. It's mostly push and run from him, very similar to a certain Marseille striker. But agreed, he's a young kid in a different environment, one more season at most, then it's Adam Hamill time.

Id have to disagree, i would say zenden shut up a few doubters in the 2nd leg. He worked his ass off and played pretty well. i can see him staying in the side

fowlen, what game were you watching today? BZ stretched them wide, got in some great crosses, and had an all out hustle game. If he was so rubbish, then why didn't they take advantage of that flank?

            :whatever:

              ummmm.
He was quite busy, and hustled and bustled.
He was unable to get behind Ferraria at all.
As far as crosses are concerned, I don't recall any great ones from him.
Not sure which game you were watching, but Riise put in a couple of excellent balls and one from Pennant stood out.

Mascherano, Riise and Zenden all covered, but did we take advantage of any flanks?
Was Zenden there to defend with Riise, or was he there to try get past his man and put in crosses?

Zenden was steady and kept the ball well, but as Fowlen said, he didn't offer very much as an attacking threat apart from one long range shot in the second half. He's an experienced player, but we need more quality to hurt teams. Harry could offer that, if fit, that's undoubted.

How many matches there are left to play in the premiership, 2 games ? It sure is too early for him. He may come off the bench though.

I think Zenden will start in Athens, unless Harry is superman.

He was the hasrdest working player in our squad in the first leg bar none. In the 2nd leg he did his job and played the role Rafa put out for him to play. just as SG did his role and wasn't expected to be a superstar. Everyone did what they were told and we won. I am not saying BZ is a superstar, nor am I saying I like his skills, but no one can question what he did for us today, because he did what he had to do to get us a win. Stretch them wide.

I think Kewell will start in the final.

60-70 minutes in our next game and 90 minutes in our last game in the league should be enough.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Some comments that Riise got in more crosses -

Could argue Zenden's work allowed this.

This is a team game and there are loads of little partnerships over the pitch.
Zenden is a pro player who does what is asked of him, he worked his socks off last night. Robben and then SWP got little out of the 2 of them and they were fresh.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF
